The gloomy and rainy Monday morning did not stop the Niigata College of Art & Design students from visiting the College. Excited to interact with PCC students, the students met at Baderirt conference room where Dean Willy Wally delivered the welcoming remarks, with the help of translator Kaipo Recheungel, before they departed for a campus tour. |
After the tour, the students gathered again at Baderirt conference room where they had some snacks and were introduced to some of the Student Body Association (SBA) members and students. The Japanese students then gave gifts and took photos with the PCC students before they left to go sightseeing around the island. |

Dan Yoshitake, the Associate Director of Admissions, was on campus on Oct. 17 & Oct 18 where he met with 23 prospective graduates for SY 2007-2008 under the Mesekiu Bai. Many of them had questions about financial aid since it's a private school with a steep tuition. With the different financial aid and scholarships available, many students were certain that they would be able to afford attending Chaminade. The transfer scholarship is available to any student who transfers there with a 2.75 CGPA & above, which is automatically a $4,000.00 |
scholarship. According to a prospective graduate of FA07, "with a focus and a way in the right direction, Chaminade's Forensic Science Program would definitely be worth my time, effort, and money." There were many students who were very interested in Computer Science, Business, Environmental Science and Forensic Science majors. A big thank you to Dan for providing pertinent information to PCC students, and encouraging them to continue their education. Should you wish to get more information about Chaminade University, come by SSS-Project Beacon and see Counselor Adora Nobuo~Andreas.

(Continued from page 2) He admitted that he was first intimidated by the other presenters, but was eventually relieved and happy as he received positive feedback about his presentation. "A lot of them congratulated me while others asked numerous questions about Palau. They also asked for copies of my essay and asked that it be posted in the school website as well as APAFS website", said Kebou. Kebou would like to challenge students to apply next year saying, "The essay contest and the conference itself is great for business students, but if I can do it, |
considering I am a tourism major, so can anybody else too. It is a great opportunity for students". Kebou won an award for his essay and a personalized plaque but says that being chosen to represent PCC and attending the conference is most rewarding. Kebou would like to thank Dean Alvina Timarong, Instructor Robert Ramarui, and Shelley Remengesau for their tremendous help and support. He would also like to thank Ramarui, PCC Board of Trustees Chairperson, Bilung Gloria G. Salii, Trustee Masa-Aki Emesiochl, and Trustee Leena Muller in accompanying him to the conference. Special thanks to Chairperson Bilung and Carlos Salii for their care. Message of Appreciation Rosita Weilbacher and her children would like to extend their sincerest appreciation and heartfelt gratitude to all PCC staff. Your support and generosity during our time of sorrow will not be forgotten. God Bless us all! |
