PCC Hosts Luncheon for
Endowment Donors PCC held its annual meeting of bi-weekly donors to the PCC Endowment Fund on December 28th, 2007 at the PCC Courtyard. The turnout for this once-a-year event was tremendous as over 100 people joined PCC in celebrating the dedication and support of so many donors who donate to the College on a weekly basis. During the event, donors were treated to a delicious lunch and raffle drawing with many of them leaving with wonderful prizes from the raffle drawing. This annual meeting hosted by the College is an opportunity for PCC to express its gratitude to all donors who have made the noble contribution in support for the future of Palau's children. Currently there are over 1,000 bi-weekly donors. For the year 2007, $123,469.85 was raised for the Endowment Fund, $66, 330.16 of which came from the bi-weekly donors. Bi-weekly donors donate a certain amount directly out of their paychecks to the PCC Endowment Fund every two weeks. Their monetary support to the only institution of higher learning in Palau, ensures that the College can continue to provide educational and training opportunities to students in Palau and the surrounding region for many years to come. |

Tips for the New Year Do What You Dislike First Grab a quick look at your to-do list. Is there anything there that you really don't want to do? If so, your assignment is to tackle that first. We can hear the grumbling, "First? I don't want to do it at all." Most people feel the same way and usually pile on other things to deal with until the dreaded task gets pushed to the bottom of the list or is completely forgotten. Often, we create non-productive diversions to keep us busy so that we don't have to deal with unpleasant matters. While postponing them may bring some short-term relief, it only postpones the inevitable. Experts say most people feel a sense of accomplishment immediately after tackling a job they really didn't want to do and often get a surge of energy and enthusiasm that carries over into other things on their schedules. Another benefit is that when we handle the tough issues first, it makes everything else pale in comparison and we can often blaze right through the balance of the list without batting an eye. We wind up feeling more productive, enjoying our jobs more, having better working relationships and having more energy for post-work activities. |
