Remengesau Presents at 4th EMS Student Symposium |
Through her extensive research, she concluded that there are four mangrove species, four seagrass species, and five algae species found at Taoch er a Idederach. Remengesau stated that one side of Taoch er a Idederach had more species compared to the other due to the fact that one side was not a residential area, thus has less run-off and salinity. She also stressed the importance of the mangroves as a nursery for fish, seagrass as suitable habitat for crustaceans, fish, and many other animals, and algae as providing food for the animals. Asked why she chose Taoch er a Idederach for her research, she said that it is accessible as it is located within the campus and that she tried to utilize and enhance what the College already offers. |
The 4th EMS Student Symposium was funded by the National Science Education Program. Remengesau also received funding for her research project from the program amounting to $480 dollars.
