at least one college staff was invited to Taiwan each year for training. The ambassador was also a devout supporter of the PCC Endowment Fund, donating every year to the Thanksgiving fundraiser.

During the luncheon, Ambassador Chen said that his overseas assignment in Palau has been most-enriching both professionally and personally, and that he has made many friends and grown fond of the island. "I have enjoyed my years in Palau. I know I will come back,

but not as ambassador. I will instead be just a regular Taiwanese tourist waving to you from the window of a passing bus," he said animatedly- a style he has become popularly known for. Chen wished PCC continued success in its endeavor to provide quality college education to Palau's students and presented a framed picture of a gold-embossed Schooner (sailboat) in full sail, saying it symbolizes PCC continued progress and growth in fulfilling its mission to the people of Palau.

Chen's generosity was also felt among non-profit community organizations

such as the Ngarachamayong Incorporated and Mechesil Belau Women's Group. Both organizations, headed by Bilung Gloria G. Salii, were also present during the luncheon and jointly expressed their gratitude to Ambassador Chen- honoring him with plaques of appreciation.

Ambassador Chen returns back home to Taiwan this Saturday, December 16 to continue his work as ambassador/advisor at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
