Library & Information Services Instructor
SALARY
$16,010 to $21,191 per annum depending on qualifications. Benefits include

Palau
Community College seeks an experienced full-time faculty member to teach and
serve as a mentor for students in our Associate of Science in Library and
Information Services degree program.
Palau
Community College (PCC) is located in Koror, Palau. Palau is a Pacific island
nation that is geographically part of Micronesia. PCC is a member of the U.S.
family of colleges and universities. PCC is a post-secondary vocational and
academic institution serving all of Micronesia, and it is fully accredited by
the Western Association of Schools and Colleges.
The
Library and Information Services (LS) program is still a
new program at PCC. The program began in August 2005 and is designed to teach
current and future library staff professional skills and abilities in the areas
of library services, materials selection and cataloging, reference, research,
community outreach, instruction, and library management.
The
LS Instructor position is a unique opportunity for librarians to share
expertise in library services and to serve as a leader in Palau’s library
community.
EXAMPLES
OF DUTIES
The
instructor is responsible for teaching courses in accordance with the approved
course outlines and developing curriculum for his/her respective division,
counseling and advising students as needed, and submitting required reports.
When not teaching a full course load, the instructor will assist the library in
developing its services and carrying out projects. The instructor will serve on
College committees as needed, enforce College policies, and perform other
duties as assigned.
EMPLOYMENT
QUALIFICATIONS
Education
and Experience: Masters of Library and Information Science from an ALA
accredited program or equivalent. At least 5 years library work experience with
progressive levels of responsibility. Teaching and instruction experience is highly
preferred. Position starts ASAP and is open until filled.
