STRIVING TO PROVIDE QUALITY EDUCATION

As part of PCC's quest to provide quality programs and services needed by the community, the College adopted a Vision Statement in 1996. The Vision: " We Guarantee Quality and Excellence." PCC also modified its existing Mission Statement and Unifying Principles which support the Vision Statement.

The College has continued to be driven by its goal of guaranteeing quality and excellence in the programs and services it provides; however, it has become apparent that in order to continue to do so, PCC must begin to secure its existence and financial stability in the future. As such, PCC has embarked on the development of a 10 Year Master Plan which will guide all aspects of the College activities.

THE KEY TO PCC'S FUTURE

One critical component of the 10 Year Master Plan is an Endowment goal of at least $10 million by the year 2007. With an ultimate goal of a $30 million endowment principle, PCC would be able to utilize the interest earned to help fund College programs and services, ensuring that Palau's only college continue to provide post-secondary education and vocational training to Palau and the Pacific region. The Palau National Government shares in this belief and has established by way of enactment of law, the PCC Endowment Fund and contributed a sum of $100,000 during Fiscal Year 1997. In addition, Members of the PCC Board of Trustees have and continue to make personal contibutions to help build up the Endowment. At the same time, more than 100 PCC staff have enrolled in a program whereby they contribute on a bi-weekly basis, along with over 700 employees of the Palau National Government, as well as employees of state governments and semi-autonomous agencies.

While the College is grateful to see such support, it realizes that additional support and much greater contributions are needed in order to reach the critical goal of $30 million. Therefore, the College is approaching all who share in our belief that education is an important factor in the quality of one's life, and society as a whole. Please join us in our efforts to secure Palau Community College's continued existence and financial stability in the future. We are counting on your valuable support and contributions to help us so that we can strive to Guarantee Quality and Excellence in our programs and services.
