To provide an opportunity for adult Palauans to gain a high school diploma and gain valuable occupational skills to improve their lives an their choice of careers. The PCC Adult High School is offered to all Palauans who wish to earn a high school equivalent diploma, and continue on to higher education, or to gain employment in the occupation of their choice. The PCC Adult High School program combines academic, life-skills instruction, and occupational skills instruction. PCC Continuing Education Program: The Continuing Education Division serves as an outreach arm of the college responsible to sponsor activities including non-credit and short-term training designed to meet pre-service and in-service needs of the community. Continuing Education provides programs and services that empower the community to meet its growing and changing educational and training needs. Cooperative Research & Extension Program: The Cooperative Research and Extension (CRE) Department is one of the three departments at Palau Community College. The department focuses on research and extension programs that that brings research-based information and technology directly to the people of Palau. Three divisions at CRE department are Agriculture (AgDi), Natural Resources and Environmental Education (NREED), and Family and Consumer Education (FaCE). There are several important agricultural issues facing Palau that CRE will address with research and demonstration projects at R & D station. Operations and Maintenance Improvement Program: The OMIP Training Program was established at PCC with the express goal of establishing a permanent short-term training program for government employees in the area of infrastructure operation and maintenance. Funding for this pgoram is on a 50-50 share basis between DOI and ROP. The overall program calls for training assessment on infrastructure related government and utility employees, training programs to up-grade employee competencies, up-grading PCC facilities related to O&M training, and training for PCC instructors in the required O&M areas, when necessary. |
